Metro courses announce winter schedules

Let me take this opportunity, along with all our staff to thank all who chose to come out and play our Nashville Metro courses last year.

While this area's weather is often changing, we are fortunate in many cases going into winter and early spring to have chances to play on sunny but cool days. Check the forecast and get a tee time at one of our Metro golf courses.

We are excited to announce big changes for Percy Warner Golf Course. This walkable 9-hole course, which opened in 1937, was long overdue for this much needed renovation. Many years ago, then Director of Metro Parks Jim Fyke  and Dick Horton, then President of Tennessee Golf Foundation, felt the need for a major renovation and upgrades, but the timing was not right. This course has a long history of generation of golfers who grew up playing here.

Percy Warner Golf Course closed for play in November as Metro Parks and Recreation, the Tennessee Golf Foundation, and Friends of Warner Parks partnered to restore the golf course and surrounding landscapes, this course will undergo an 11-month renovation and enhancement project led by architect Bruce Hepner, whose restoration plans brought an air of excitement to everyone who cherishes this old course.

If all goes according to plan and Mother Nature cooperates, it should reopen for play September 2023

In closing, we wish everybody a happy New Year. As always, we are looking forward to seeing you anytime you can make it.
